How should I store and maintain the car?

Store it indoors or under a waterproof cover; don't hose it down or use soap and water on it, and avoid prolonged sun exposure. If unused for a long time, disconnect the charging cable under the seat and recharge at least every 3 months.

Assembly

Does the car come assembled?

The vehicle is delivered unassembled and requires adult assembly. A printed product manual and assembly instructions are included in the package to guide you through the installation process. For select models, an installation video may also be available on the product page for additional guidance.

Products & Age Suitability

What age is a ride-on car suitable for?

Our range covers ages 1-12. Ages 1-3 use foot-to-floor push cars with a parent handle; ages 3-6 start on 12V single-seat models; 6-8 step up to 24V two-seaters and 36V UTVs; 8-12+ enjoy 36V off-road and 48V drift go-karts. Always follow the age and weight guidance on each product page.

Are these officially licensed models?

Yes. Our ride-ons are officially licensed from brands such as Ford, RAM, McLaren, Chevrolet, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and JCB, with authentic styling and details.

What safety features do the cars have?

Every First Ride On ride-on is built from child-safe materials and certified to U.S. children's product safety standards, including CPC and ASTM F963, so the body, paint and plastics are safe for little hands.

On the driving side, safety features vary by model and by the age and needs of the child. Most ride-ons come with a parent remote that has an emergency stop and adjustable speed, plus a 3-point seat belt. Many models add soft-start (gradual acceleration, so they don't jerk forward), while our larger 24V–48V trucks, SUVs and UTVs add sturdy doors and spring or stable suspension for a steadier ride, and several use anti-tip wheels with a reinforced frame. Younger drivers get more of the parent-control and limiter features, while bigger kids get more of the structural supports. Always check the specific safety marks and the age and weight guidance shown on each product page before you buy.

Battery & Charging

What type of battery is used, and can it be shipped by air?

Our ride-on vehicles use lead-acid batteries and come with the battery included, so no separate purchase is required. Due to shipping restrictions on lead-acid batteries, air transportation may be subject to certain limitations. If you plan to travel by air with your ride-on vehicle, please check with your airline in advance for their specific requirements.

How long does it take to charge?

Charge 12V models for 8-12 hours and 24V models for about 12 hours. Do not exceed 20 hours. The charger light changes from red to green when fully charged.

How long does the battery last on a full charge?

On a full charge, most models run about 40-50 minutes in normal use. Under ideal conditions (around 25C / 77F, flat pavement, within weight limit) runtime can reach 1-2 hours. Runtime is shorter in cold weather, on hills, or with a heavier rider.

Why does the battery drain fast / runtime is short?

Shorter runtime is usually caused by low temperature (cold reduces capacity), driving on hills or grass, exceeding the weight limit, or a charger that never turned green. Charge a bit longer in cold weather and use the car on flat ground. If the charger light stays red, the charger may need replacing.

My battery won't charge – what should I do?

First check that the battery connector isn't loose or unplugged (re-seat it). If the charger stays cool and never warms slightly while plugged in, the charger may be faulty – we'll send a replacement. If neither helps, send us a short video of the issue and we'll arrange a replacement battery.

Can I get replacement batteries or parts?

Yes. Replacement parts may be provided free of charge during the 6-month warranty period, depending on the issue and the part required. If you need a replacement part, please contact our customer support team with your order number, and we’ll be happy to assist you with the replacement.

For products outside the warranty period, replacement parts are not currently available for separate purchase.

Usage & Controls

Does it come with a parental remote control?

Whether a parental remote control is included depends on the specific model. Please refer to the product page for details about the included features and accessories for each ride-on vehicle.

How do I pair the parental remote?

1) Remove the remote batteries and turn the car off. 2) Reinstall the batteries and place the remote near the steering wheel. 3) Turn the car on – when two lights on the remote stay lit, pairing is successful.

What do the remote indicator lights mean?

Three lights blinking = not connected to the car; one light blinking = the car is locked (press the P button to unlock); one light solid = low speed; two lights solid = medium; three lights solid = high speed.

How do I connect Bluetooth / play music?

Some cars have Bluetooth speaker and MP3 player. Follow the Bluetooth pairing steps in the user manual to connect your phone and play music. If the car starts but there's no sound from the speaker, check the volume on both the car and your phone.

Troubleshooting

The car won't start / won't move.

Charge the battery for 8-12 hours first, then check that all connection wires are correctly plugged in and that the charger light has turned from red to green. Also check whether the P button on the remote was pressed (the car locks and won't move until you press P to unlock). If it still won't start, send us a video and we'll help diagnose.

The car is slow or cuts out intermittently.

Check that the rider is within the weight limit and driving on a flat surface. Low battery voltage causes slow speed – recharge the battery. If the issue continues, send us a video so we can arrange the right part.

The motor isn't working.

Check the fuse (it may auto-cut power for 5-60 seconds then reset), confirm the pedal is properly connected, and inspect the motor terminals and connectors. If none of these fix it, send us a video and we'll arrange a replacement.

My order is missing a part.

First check inside the engine bay and underneath the car – small parts are sometimes tucked there. If the part is still missing, contact us with your shipping address (and, if possible, a photo circling the missing part number from the manual) and we'll ship the correct part from our warehouse.

How do I replace the receiver?

We have a step-by-step receiver replacement video. Contact support and we'll send you the link, or check the product page resources.
