This is the ride-on for the kid who has already outgrown a 12V car. The First Ride On 36V Off-Road Vehicle runs a 36V 9Ah battery and dual 200W motors — 400W of total output — and reaches 15 km/h (9.3 mph). It's rated for ages 6+ and supports riders up to 60 kg (132 lbs) and 1.6 m (5 ft 3 in), which means it keeps working as your child grows instead of being retired at seven.
What separates it from a toy-grade ride-on is the build. There's a metal frame under the body, EVA tires with a 300 mm rear, dual rear suspension, and a hall-effect throttle with an electronic brake pedal — the same control layout you'd find on a real electric go-kart. There's no remote control, and that's intentional: this is a car for kids who drive themselves.
- 36V 9Ah battery + dual 200W motors — 400W total, up to 15 km/h / 9.3 mph
- Metal frame — a reinforced chassis, not a plastic shell
- EVA tires — 9.8″ front, 11.8″ rear; grips grass, gravel, and packed dirt
- Dual rear suspension — soaks up bumps at speed
- Hall-effect throttle + electronic brake pedal — real kart-style control
- Adjustable seat (3 positions) — grows with your child
- Headlights plus floodlights, Bluetooth music — built for evening rides
Why This 36V Kart Is a Step Up, Not a Bigger Toy
400 Watts of Motor Output — Double a Typical 24V Ride-On
Two 200W motors (400W total) run through a 36V 9Ah pack. That's roughly double the motor output of a standard 24V ride-on, and it shows up exactly where you'd expect: pulling away from a stop, and holding speed on a slope or through thick grass instead of slowing down. Top speed is 15 km/h (9.3 mph) with a low/high selector so beginners can start at 11 km/h and move up.
A Metal Frame and Kart-Style Controls
The frame is metal — this is the structural difference between a kids' kart that survives a season of hard use and one that develops a rattle. The control layout is genuinely kart-like: a hall-effect variable throttle pedal for smooth, proportional acceleration instead of a simple on/off switch, plus an electronic brake pedal. Steering is direct and the seat is adjustable across three positions, so the driving position still fits after a growth spurt.
EVA Tires, Dual Rear Suspension, and Ground Clearance
The tires are EVA foam rather than hard plastic — 250 mm (9.8″) up front and 300 mm (11.8″) at the rear, with a wider rear contact patch for traction. Paired with dual rear suspension, the kart stays stable and comfortable over gravel, dirt paths, and short grass. There's meaningful clearance under the battery box to the footrest, so it doesn't ground out on the first rut it meets.
11–15 km/h Speeds and How Long the Battery Lasts
Two gears: roughly 11 km/h and 15 km/h. Range is about 45–60 minutes on hard ground with a 60 kg load at around 25°C, dropping to roughly 25–45 minutes on grass — grass always draws more current. Charging takes 8–12 hours on the included 36V 1000mA charger, so overnight charging is the routine. Forward and reverse are both available for getting out of tight spots.
No Remote — This One Is for Independent Drivers
This kart does not include a parent remote, and that's a deliberate choice rather than a missing feature. It's designed for ages 6+, for kids who are ready to hold the wheel and manage the throttle themselves. Parents stay in the picture through the low/high speed selector and the soft start/soft stop behaviour, but the driving is the child's. If you want a car you can take over by remote, our 12V and 24V ride-ons all include one.
Headlights, Floodlights, and Bluetooth for Evening Runs
There's a headlight plus a separate floodlight up front, which makes dusk and early-evening rides practical rather than a squint. Bluetooth music plays from a phone or tablet. The seat is a proper bucket-style single seat with a three-point belt, and soft start/soft stop keeps acceleration and braking smooth at both ends of the throttle.
Who This Kart Is Built For
Riders 6 and up, up to 60 kg (132 lbs) and 1.6 m (5 ft 3 in) tall. That's a wide window — it's one of the few ride-ons in this class that a 6-year-old and an 11-year-old can both use comfortably, just on different speed settings. Best on driveways, dirt paths, gravel, and grass; it is not street-legal and should be ridden away from traffic.

Why is there no remote control on this kart?
Because it's designed for ages 6+ and independent driving. Parents control the pace through the low/high speed selector, but the child steers and works the throttle. If you want remote takeover, our 12V and 24V ride-ons include it.
How fast does a 36V ride-on actually go?
Up to 15 km/h (9.3 mph) on the high setting, with a low setting around 11 km/h for beginners. That's noticeably faster than a 24V car, which is why it's rated 6 and up.
How long does the battery last?
Roughly 45–60 minutes on hard ground with a 60 kg rider, and 25–45 minutes on grass. Charging takes 8–12 hours, so charge it overnight.
Can an adult ride it?
No. The rated capacity is 132 lbs (60 kg). It's built for kids and young teens up to about 5 ft 3 in tall.
Is it hard to assemble?
It's more involved than a small ride-on because of the metal frame and larger wheels — figure on about 45 minutes. All hardware and tools are included.
Can it go on grass and dirt?
Yes, that's what it's built for. EVA tires, dual rear suspension, and 400W of motor output handle grass, gravel, and packed dirt. Loose sand and steep slopes will still slow it down.
What's the difference between the throttle pedal and a normal one?
It's a hall-effect pedal, which means acceleration is proportional — press lightly and it creeps, press harder and it builds speed smoothly. Combined with the electronic brake pedal and soft start, it's far more controllable than an on/off switch.
Does it have lights?
Yes — a front headlight plus a floodlight, so evening and dusk rides are usable. Bluetooth music is built in too.
